[ENG] Recipe : Korean Twisted Doughnuts

Korean fever still booming now and I love donuts/ doughnuts, so it's better if we make our own doughnuts with korean style! If you like watching korean show or their culture food, you must be know Korean Twisted Doughnuts. The original of the recipe use topping with sprinkle granulated sugar until the doughnuts full of sugar or you can add cinnamon powder to get spices taste! For the new creation of this doughnuts, I add sesame seeds inside the doughnuts to make it more delicious and good for health! It's also get inspired by Maangchi. The ingredients is easy to find! Here's the ingredients :

As usual, we're using measurement cup to make it easier to count!

3 cup all purpose flour + 1/4-1/2 cup for dusting
1 cup lukewarm water
3 tbs powdered milk
2 tbs butter/margarine
2 tbs granulated sugar
1/2 sdt vanilla extract (optional)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp instant dry yeast

1 pinch baking powder

2-3 tbs sesame seeds for filling (optional, depend on your like)
2-3 tbs powdered sugar for sprinkles (mix-mix)

Vegetable oil for frying

How to :
  1. Mix water, powdered milk, sugar, vanilla extract and margarine/butter on pot, turn on the heat it on small heat, mixed it well until butter melted, let it seat for around 1 minutes.
  2. Add egg yolk, mix it fast so the egg didn't clot. Let it seat until it become lukewarm, and then add yeast, mix well.
  3. Add 3 cup flour, mix it well. Knead with hand until it's become soft and elastic for around 10-15 minutes, add baking powder. Knead it again.
  4. Let the dough rest until 1-2 hours or until it double in sizes.
  5. Dusting hand with flour. Flatten the dough. Cut the dough into small round shape (around 16 pieces). Dusting it.
  6. Take the dough, press it and add the filling (sesame seeds). Roll the dough.
7. Make the dough become long, twisted it.





8. Let it rise again for 5-10 minutes.


9. Prepare oil for frying.
10. Fry on small-medium heat until golden brown. Korean twisted doughnut is ready to be served. Sprinkles/mixed the doughnuts with white powdered sugar or granulated sugar to your like or enjoy as it is! It's make more than a dozens donuts, enjoy!
